Its objective is to reinforce the mechanisms put in place by the University of Montpellier to promote awareness and the application of ethical and deontological principles in response to the questions raised by scientific progress and its contemporary societal repercussions, regardless of the field of research. The Research Ethics Committee of the University of Montpellier is authorized to provide advisory opinions on research projects and protocols across all scientific fields, particularly those involving human subjects, privacy issues, and personal data. The UMR ESPACE-DEV conducts research on the spatial dynamics that characterize eco-socio-systems. Its objectives focus on defining indicators of these dynamics: biogeophysical processes, societal changes, risks associated with emerging diseases based on environmental parameters, and territorial changes and vulnerability to global shifts. To this end, it develops methodologies in spatial remote sensing and knowledge integration. The LICeM brings together faculty members and researchers who are deeply engaged in the field of innovation, particularly in economic law. The unit, composed of legal scholars, focuses its research on two areas related to innovation in relation to the law. The first area aims to identify and understand, in light of new market offerings and behaviors, what legal innovations are being created. The second area, meanwhile, seeks to analyze the legal framework governing innovative products resulting from digital technologies. The team’s research serves as an important foundation for the courses it offers at the Master’s and University Diploma levels: consumer affairs, distribution and competition; intellectual and digital property; and food.
